State of the Red Sox Nation

Not only was the Sox/Marlins game canceled yesterday, but every Grapefruit League game was canceled yesterday due to a large system of rain covering most of Florida. None of the games will be made up.

Today Time Wakefield pitched three scoreless innings and Manny Ramirez hit another homerun, but the Sox lost their game against the Dodgers. Bronson Arroyo's performance was less then stellar and the two runs he let up were the difference.

Several Sox stars are set to appear on the show Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. Kevin Millar, Tim Wakefield, Doug Mirabelli, Jason Varitek, Bill Mueller, and Johnny Damon are all supposed to have involvement in an episode of the show. Personally I can't stand the show and don't really respect the whole metro-sexual lifestyle, but that's definately an episode that I'm going to have to see.

It's looking more and more likely that Kevin Youkilis will be headed back to Pawtucket to start the season. It's not a definate yet, but the move makes sense. I want to see Youkilis play every day, but he likely won't get a chance to do that in the bigs. Bill Mueller's knee seems to be healthy and Youkilis would be riding the bench the majority of the time in Boston. I still hope to see at least 300 at bats out of Youkilis this year, but those at bats likely won't start in April.

Johnny Damon did an interview with Bostongm.com about his hectic offseason. There's not much there of any worth, but Damon fans might want to check it out. He basically talks a bit about writing his book and how he filled his time during this winter.
